The 5 has pretty much everything I've been shopping for. People who ride XLs are tired of spending money on stupid looking frames. Take note manufacturers: For an XL size just add length to the TT and a taller seat mast and call it done. Super functional and aesthetically superior to every other production bike out there. and I'm sure that same characteristic will pay off on the longer descents.Īlso, love that the standover of the XL is the same as the L. The bike is part of Trek 's Stache range of mountain bikes. It sports 29' wheels, is priced at 1,580 USD, comes in a range of sizes, including 15.5', 17.5', 18.5', 19.5', 21.5', has Manitou suspension and a Shimano drivetrain. I'm sure this will continue to get better the more I ride and adjust. The 2018 Trek Stache 5 is an Cross Country Aluminium / Alloy mountain bike. Purely an adjustment of riding style and I was feeling better about it by the end of the ride. Ive have had other 29ers and this bike has caused it hard to imagine life without a niner plus or how I ever rode without one. With the 29+ I never ran out of traction but I still found myself overshooting corners from – I assume – the slacker head angle. The main thing that surprised me was the amount of input needed to really get into a corner. Many differences between it and the KM and I'm still adjusting to some of them. (still geared) The only tweak so far is going tubeless. I went from a rigid SS Karate Monkey to the Stache5. You like what you like and that's all good but none of that should reflect negatively on the bike or the fork. Blatant – Interesting that you prefer to ride chunky terrain at high speed, don't ride rigid, buy a rigid bike, then complain about it's inherent characteristics.
